World Environment Day celebration
On the occasion of World Environment Day, June 5th, 2024, the Institution’s Innovation Council of IMS organized a poster presentation activity. The theme for the event was “Sustainable Earth: Addressing Global Environmental Crises.” This initiative aimed to provide a platform for students to showcase their comprehension of environmental challenges and propose solutions for a more sustainable future.
The session commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Meenakshi Sharma, Director of IMS. In her formal remarks, Dr. Sharma emphasized the importance of World Environment Day and highlighted the responsibility of individuals to safeguard the environment. She specifically addressed the potential impact of simple actions such as water conservation and energy efficiency.
Following the welcome address, the poster presentation activity commenced. Student groups presented their research on various environmental crises, including deforestation, global warming, pollution, and solid waste management. Their presentations showcased innovative solutions to these issues, ranging from the utilization of solar power to tree-planting initiatives and the creation of valuable products from waste materials.
The session concluded with an interactive discussion session between students and faculty, fostering further engagement and idea exchange. The event culminated with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Sanam Mir, a second-semester student in the Bachelor of Business Administration program.
