IMS organizes guest lecture on “Retail Analytics”

An Online Corporate Expert Lecture was organized by Management Studies Department of Institute of Management Sciences, Jammu on 10th October, 2020. The topic of the Lecture was “Retail Analytics”. The Corporate resource person was Mr. Sanjay Kumar – Vice President, Retail Analytics at Ugam, A Merkle Company. He has more than 21 years of experience in partnering with large Fortune 500 companies to help them with impactful digital transformation through use of data, technology and analytics. He is currently leading Digital Shelf Analytics solution which helps global brands improve their e-retail channel performance. He has handled diverse roles such as leading Pricing Analytics and Assortment Analytics solutions for optimizing category performance for large retailers in addition to his vast experience in Operations and Technology in various domains in different organizations such as Infobridge Technologies, Datamatics Global Services, Techprocess Solutions, Innodata-Isogen, and Industele Services. The webinar was attended by the students and faculty of MBA and BBA courses.
The session started with a welcome address by Asst. Prof Dr. Meenakshi Sharma. This was followed by an hour long session by Mr. Sanjay Kumar where he discussed the importance and application of Retail Analytics in the new economic scenario in different organizations. He also explained how various types of analytics can be used to make informed decisions by the business organizations to drive organizational growth and customer satisfaction. He also advised students regarding the scope and opportunities in this field. The webinar ended with an engaging Q & A session with the students and faculty. The session was concluded by Asst Prof. Ms. Gurshish Kour who thanked Mr. Kumar for his invaluable insights and presented the formal Vote of Thanks.
