IMS Jammu celebrates Women’s Day
The Institute of Management Studies (IMS) in Jammu commemorated International Women’s Day with fervor and enthusiasm on the 7th of March. The designated campaign theme for the year 2024 was “Inspire Inclusion,” aligned with the overarching theme of “Invest in women: Accelerate progress.” This campaign underscored the imperative of fostering an inclusive society while highlighting the significance of investing in women’s empowerment. In observance of the day’s significance, all staff members adorned purple suits, symbolizing the color associated with International Women’s Day for the year.
The session commenced with a gracious welcome address delivered by the anchors, followed by insightful remarks from IMS Director, Dr. Meenakshi Sharma, who emphasized the pivotal role of women in society. Drawing from Indian customs, she underscored the concept of women’s strength, evident in their association with ‘naari shakti,’ as exemplified by Goddess Kali in Hindu Vedas. Subsequently, a video-making and poster-making competition centered on the theme of Indian women entrepreneurs was initiated, showcasing active student participation. The session concluded with a vote of thanks extended by IMS students, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to commemorate and reflect on the invaluable contributions of women to society.
