IMS Organizes *Sustainable Startup Brainstorm* to Foster Innovative Solutions for Global Warming
The Institution Innovation Council (IIC) Club of IMS recently hosted the *Sustainable Startup Brainstorm* activity for BBA and BCA 3rd and 5th semester students, aiming to inspire innovative startup ideas that address global warming in alignment with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event showcased the students’ creativity, problem-solving skills, and dedication to sustainability through a variety of compelling proposals.
Among the key ideas presented were green infrastructure projects focused on urban green spaces, vertical gardens, and eco-friendly buildings to combat the urban heat island effect and enhance air quality. Students also proposed smart cooling systems powered by renewable energy, such as solar-powered air conditioners and energy-efficient refrigeration units, to reduce both energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Another standout concept was the development of cool roofs—reflective surfaces designed to lower indoor temperatures, decrease energy use, and reduce carbon emissions.
Additionally, students presented ideas for carbon capture utilization (CCU), which involves capturing carbon dioxide from industrial processes and converting it into useful products like building materials or synthetic fuels. The potential of technology to promote sustainability was also highlighted through proposals for eco-friendly mobile applications that enable users to monitor their carbon footprints, access sustainable practices, and engage in community-driven environmental initiatives.
The *Sustainable Startup Brainstorm* provided a platform for students to apply their academic knowledge to real-world environmental challenges, underscoring IMS’s commitment to fostering innovation and sustainability in its educational programs.
