The IIC Cell of IMS Jammu successfully hosted the *Sustainable Startup Brainstorm* activity for MBA students, encouraging innovative entrepreneurship aimed at addressing the pressing issue of global warming. The event saw enthusiastic participation from MBA 1st and 3rd semester students, who worked in groups to present creative and practical startup ideas focused on sustainability.
Among the standout ideas were the use of plastic waste to manufacture durable bricks, providing an eco-friendly solution to construction needs while reducing plastic pollution. Another team proposed a sugarcane waste management system to produce biodegradable products such as cups, plates, and notebooks, presenting an alternative to harmful single-use plastics.
Other notable concepts included a carbon footprint tracking app that helps individuals and businesses monitor and reduce their environmental impact, and a sustainable fashion recycling initiative aimed at reducing waste in the fashion industry by encouraging the use of eco-friendly materials and recycling practices.
Director IMS, Dr Meenakshi Sharma applauded the efforts of students and said that such events improves the students’ ability to apply innovative thinking to real-world challenges, with the potential to develop these ideas into viable startups. This initiative reflects IMS’s ongoing commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and sustainability through its IIC Cell, positioning students as future leaders in green innovation.
