IIC Cell of IMS Jammu celebrated National Startup Day
The Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of IMS Jammu celebrated National Startup Day on January 16, 2025, a special event dedicated to fostering entrepreneurial spirit and innovation among students and aspiring entrepreneurs.
The first session of the day was led by Soft Skills & Life Skills Coach, Er. Nidhi Jamwal, on the topic “Work Ethics”. In her talk, she emphasized that strong work ethics not only enhance individual growth but also contribute to organizational progress and societal betterment. The session highlighted that poor work ethics, such as procrastination, dishonesty, and lack of discipline, hinder personal and organizational growth. In contrast, good work ethics, including dedication, professionalism, and integrity, are the pillars of success and trustworthiness. The students were encouraged to reflect on how these traits of good work ethics could be applied in their personal and professional lives.
The second session by Assistant Professor, Ms. Gurshish Kour on “Effective Sales and Marketing Strategies” aimed at empowering budding entrepreneurs with the knowledge and tools needed to succeed in competitive markets. The session covered key topics such as market research and analysis for understanding customer needs and market trends, branding and positioning to establish a unique identity, and digital marketing strategies like social media and SEO for broader outreach. The session highlighted the importance of innovative strategies in navigating competitive markets and fostering entrepreneurial success. It was followed by an engaging activity titled “The ₹30,000 Money Challenge” for MBA students of the 2nd and 4th semesters. The exercise aimed to teach the students the importance of financial planning in Startups, enabling them to achieve both short-term satisfaction and long-term goals.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks presented by Coordinator, Er Divya Jamwal and memento presentation as a token of appreciation to the speakers.
