Expert Talk on Personal Branding via LinkedIn & Social Media at IMS Jammu

The Institute of Management Sciences (IMS), Jammu, organized an expert talk on “Crafting Your Personal Brand: LinkedIn & Social Media Strategies,” led by Mr. Vikas Nain, Assistant Professor at Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology (PIET). The session, conducted online via Google Meet, aimed to enhance students’ digital presence and professional growth.

Er. Divya Jamwal opened the event with a warm welcome to the speaker, followed by remarks from Dr. Meenakshi Sharma, Director of IMS, who highlighted the importance of leveraging digital tools for career advancement.

Mr. Nain’s presentation focused on key aspects of personal branding, emphasizing the use of LinkedIn as a platform to create a strong professional image. He outlined practical steps, including:

– Creating a Professional Email Address

– Customizing LinkedIn Profile URL

– Uploading a Professional Photo, and using tools like Canva for background images

– Using Keywords and Storytelling in the professional summary

– Networking Effectively, aiming for 500+ quality connections

He also discussed the advantages of LinkedIn Premium and internships through platforms like Internshala. The session concluded with a Q&A, where Mr. Nain provided guidance on building personal brands, even for introverted individuals.
