Celebrating National Youth Day at IMS Jammu: Honoring the Teachings of Swami Vivekananda

The Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of IMS Jammu celebrated National Youth Day with enthusiasm and reverence, commemorating the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, an iconic spiritual leader and youth motivator. The event was graced by Director IMS, Dr. Meenakshi Sharma, who delivered an inspiring session on the significance of youth empowerment and the timeless teachings of Swami Vivekananda.

Dr. Meenakshi Sharma emphasized the importance of adopting Swami Vivekananda’s principles in life, urging students to have a vision and work with unwavering dedication to achieve their goals. She highlighted Swami Vivekananda’s message of inclusivity and self-respect, reminding students that each individual has a divine spark within them. “If we don’t respect ourselves, we cannot truly respect others,” she said. She encouraged students to overcome fear, embrace challenges, and work tirelessly for the upliftment of society, just as Swami Vivekananda devoted his life to the underprivileged and the betterment of humanity.

As part of the National Youth Day celebrations, the Social club of the Institute organizes a Charity Drive every year. Thos initiative for 2025 was announced which will be culminated at the end of the month. This initiative aims to instill a sense of social responsibility among students, encouraging them to contribute towards the betterment of underprivileged communities.

The session concluded with a call to action for students to actively participate in upcoming activities and carry forward the legacy of Swami Vivekananda by working towards personal excellence and societal upliftment. IMS Jammu continues to foster an environment that motivates students to embody the ideals of National Youth Day in their daily lives.
