LEARNING AND TEACHING METHODS
Teaching at IMS aims at development of skills and decision-making capacity in the individual. The treatment of subject, both fundamental and theory, is provided by the faculty through formal lectures, panel discussions, practical problem solving sessions, case studies, project work/summer training, brain storming sessions, Audio-Visual Aids etc. Students are free to raise specific issues and share their experiences. Recognizing the need to expose the students to real life challenges, a number of corporate sessions are scheduled throughout the entire programme period. People from the corporate sector, policy makers from the government and eminent scholars are invited to conduct these sessions.
FACULTY
The group recognizes that students can receive quality education only if the faculty is excellent. It is the continuous effort of the group to locate and attract the best available faculty. As the Institute is conscious that attracting good faculty and retaining it is difficult task particularly in our State, therefore, the Institute constantly strives to provide all that may help in this regard and contribute to create a vibrant intellectual ambience on the campus.
EVALUATION
Evaluation system is continuous, varied and rigorous. Performance of students is evaluated through instruments such as, class room participation, quizzes, seminars, home assignments, group discussions, case presentations, tests, project reports and final comprehensive University examination.
SUMMERÂ TRAINING
As an integral part of the curricula, Summer Training or in-company training is provided to expose the students to practical situations. At the end of the training period, each student is required to submit a report which is jointly evaluated by the company and the Institute’s Faculty through presentations and viva-voce.
